So I'm a huge muscle car/sports car guy. I have been into fast cars since I was young. As a youngster coming from a drag racing family I've always loved Muscle cars and fast cars of any kind really. I tend to stick with my Domestic cars, but I give credit where credit is due. If it's fast its fast! I know several of you all are from europe and else where and I'd like to get a take on a where everyone else is at on this topic or if I'm the only one here that enjoys a fast car haha. Tell me what your favorite sports car is and why!

I'll start off .. I know many of you are going to give me hell for this but I'm a die hard GM guy. An F-body guy (for those that don't know, F-body = camaro/trans am) My favorite car of all time is the 1969 Copo camaro.. close second are the 4th gen 98-02 GMMG ZL1 Camaros. :firedevil:

I'd love to get a good thread started about fast cars. Tell me what you like or what you got its always good to talk fast cars!

Fastest car I ever owned/raced? 1971 SS454 Chevelle. Fastest car I've ever driven? 1970 Nova SS with a built 454. Guessing about 600+ horsepower. Owner drove it on the street and had time slips of 11.5 seconds....on street tires!
Tried to buy it but the bank got wind of what it was and said uh uh...lol!

I bought a 1969 z28 camero when I got back from Vietnam. It was silver with black stripes.I wish I would have kept it because today there worth around 40,000 bucks. My other favorite was a 1966 chev Nova that a friend and myself built for the strip. It had a mild 350 eng and turned high elevens in the quarter mile.We were going to put a big block in it but never got to it,ran out of money.

Well someone has to represent the fords! I'm from the states and have always been in love with all the turbo awd and rwd ford cars Europe gets! Oh and all you Australians get awesome car/truck looking vehicles!
My fastest car is my 03 Mustang Mach 1 with a forged rotating assembly and a 03/04 cobra supercharger and all the usual exhaust suspension and intake bolt ons. I haven't been to a dyno since the new short block and power adder but stock motor with Bolt ons she put down just over 300 to the wheels. My geuss with the new set up I should be making a little over 400 to the wheels maybe 450 with a simple supercharger pulley swap :). When I lived closer to a drag strip, I ran a 13.2 second 1/4 mile with 18" low profile tires spinning all the way to third gear. Oh the fun of cars :) im waiting for spring to see if 315mm wide nt555r drag tires will make first and second gear a little more usable also I bought a fancy new pair of adjustable coilovers and front adjustable drag racing struts I need to slap on. One day I hope to lift a front tire off the starting line, that would be awesome!

Pop both of those cars sound amazing any Chevrolet with the ls6 454 is gonna be bad news that's for sure! I'd love to have a 70 Chevelle SS.. Hell that nova sounds wicked... My uncle lets me run his nova every once in a while but it's a ihra hot rod class car running high 8s in the quarter.. 64 Chevy II with 15.3.1 compression 406 small block with brodix big boy heads and a .700 lift monster cam, motor makes a little over 825 Rwhp! I love the Novas and chevelles!

Namvet I bet you wish you still had that car! Was it a 69 z28 with the DZ302 moor? Cause those Badasss little motors for a tiny small block!! See I like the camaros that had the hypo 327s they were 365 horse 327s ahh 67-69 camaros are my favorite body styles! 1st gen!

Mwsmoker man that Mach sounds mean! I take it you have the eaton m112 supercharger .. Pretty decent size blower too atleast I know that's what is stock on the 03/04 cobras! I like when the guys use the 4.6 dohc motors in the Mach 1s and throw a eaton roots blower on em! I'd say with that shortblock ya could possible male around the 500 Rwhp mark! Should get it dyno tuned! I'd love to run into that Mach with either one of my cars.. I've got a bolt on ls1 SS on a 150 shot that I drive everyday that would give it a hell of a run and my trans am would too.. But it's just a crazy built LT1 car ... Just a little 355 with too many internal parts to list right now but it put down 461 Rwhp on motor and we run stages of silly gas on it lol but that's my baby it dont get out much on the streets..

It's crazy because I have such a passion for cars especially domestics .. I could probably tell you everything you ever wanted to know about any muscle car from the 60s on.. I guess I should have went into building motors and cars instead of what I do now... So far there's been some excellent responses!! Love eating about y'all's rides keep em coming!

I have a Ford Escort 1.6 which is years old and is soon for the scrap heap. Top speed of - approaching legality. The paint job is mostly sticking to the body-work and the oil slick it leave's behind is costly.
But, I used to have a Porsche back in the day and loved it. It was 10 year old but was like new. My ultimate car (just about within sensible reach) would be a Sunbeam Tiger 427 (Carroll Shelby) of course.

Just imagine a Penguin at the wheel......drooool slobbbbbber aching heart. Why did you start this thread you Baas$£"rd. eP.

Gotta call you on the 365ph 327. That was the fuel injected engine only available in the 62-65 corvette. The hottest 327 was the 340. it was the same engine as the corvette, minus the fuely setup. Hell i use to be able to tell yo what chevy engine you had by the serial number on the block. I probably owned over all 60 chevies from '58-73. My last hot rod build was a 1979 chevy 1/2ton shortbox Fleetside. They didn't make many 6' box fleetsides. I did a mild build on a 400 small block. Crane cam, Edelbrock Performer intake with a professionally tricked Quadrajet. I changed the three speed standard to a 4speed with a hurst shifter. Chopped the rear frame and put a narrowed Ford 9" rearend in it. Had Craiger 10x15 mags on back with the "street legal" Mickey Thompsom 14" wise N50-15s. The rest of the truck I left stone stock. We'll just say I had fun with a few guys in there mustangs and Camaros!

I'm down to driving a Chevy pickup with 210,000miles on it so I here ya lol!

Mmmm Sports Cars!

In '73 I had a 1965 Triumph Spitfire! Loved that thing all 1147cc's. Then a 1975 TR-6, that thing was deadly. Then in 2002 (2nd Childhood) got a 2000 Miata. Those are Sports Cars in my mind; loved the big Detroit muscle too, but somehow the little two seaters won my heart.
