New Grower Medical Strains-Anxiety

I'm in the same boat as you dazed.

I've had severe issues with anxiety/paranoia in the past (and still struggle at times) but can't be locked to the couch from heavy indicas all the time. Others have made great suggestions already that I will also be looking to try, but also look for sativa doms (not pure sativa) that have higher ratios of CBD (not just CBN) to keep you off the couch and anxiety-free. I'm still experimenting myself with what works best, but CBD Seeds Auto-Diesel has worked pretty well as a daytime med for me so far. As you said though, there will most likely be a small trade-off. Hope this helps someone :peace:

Hello Dazed,

Do you want some real releif from anxiety? Or do you want a strain of cannabis that does not promote anxiety?
It would be important to know.

I am assuming you want to use a strain that helps with the feeling of anxiety

The advice you have been given so far is good advice. Basically, what you want is an indica or heavy indica hybrid, with high CBD's. I know, no big secret there. But what I want to propose to you is, to use a High CBD Oil that you make yourself. Best part about it, is you don't need to use buds. Just the stems leaves and roots, or any high cbd strain flowers, though flowers are optional. depending on what you want to get out of it. There are many options, but many people get relief from anxiety, and the shakes or tremors with the oils. Among other benefits like helping eliminate acid reflux disease, and helps with skin conditions as well.

If you would like to know more, let me know, or Yoda, or swampman, Duggy, Stickman, they all are hip to the oils as well. Not that other's aren't, but they were here on this thread so I mentioned them,

Peace For Relief

Hey Vapeo, nice to meet you, thank you for the advice. Yes, it's a difficult one. I always got advised to use Sativa strains at collectives when I lived in Cali. Although they allowed me to work and function better, they didn't address my anxiety issues. Especially my social anxiety-it actually made that worse. Anyone who has had panic attacks or anxiety will know how debilitating it can be. Up until 5 years ago, I never had any problems, it all started one day and I've been struggling with it ever since. It is also definitely a catalyst for depression. I went on prescribed meds for that, and man, NEVER again, that shit screws with your head.

So what strains have worked for you personally? As with anxiety disorders, I'm sure every case is different and strains are just the same. What works for you, may not work for me. I'm just interested in where your at if you don't mind me asking?

Hi Eek, how are you. I absolutely am looking for strains that offer relief from my anxiety. How do I find out what the CBD content of a particular strain is? Are there any databases or anything online? I'm trawling through this site looking for personal experiences, and I know it is going to take me some time to find out what works for me, I can't even manage a successful grow yet haha, but that will come!

I'm very interested in what you're saying about being able to use the leaves, stems, roots etc! That is super exciting to me as I was wondering what uses there were for the rest of the plant once the buds have been harvested. I thought it was such a waste of a plant to throw out 80% of it.

I would love some more info if you ever get the time.

Thanks guys!

Peace and Love.

Sure we got plenty of time. there are a few photo strains that are bred specifically for CBD's. They will have a high CBD content as you would imagine, and a lower THC content. Most of them even out pretty much.

Look at Attitude seedbank

They Carry CBD crew, and a few other medical type seedbanks with high cbd strains. When you harvest, all of the Stems, leaves and branches are full of CBD's as well. So even if you have a THC strains for smoking, you can use the stems and leaves.

Making oils can make a chronic sufferer of and malady that give them the shakes, or anxiety, depression, feel much better. Often combined with meds or alone, it can be beneficial. Also, any of those feelings that make you feel like you can't stand being in your own skin, cannabis can be a huge relief.

What I do is take about a half gallon of either Olive Oil, or Grapeseed oil, put in about an ounce of stems, and about two ounces of leaves. put it in a crockpot, turn in on for three hours off for two, and off over night, except the last night. Cook like this for two weeks, and 24 hours straight for the last night. strain, it should look like motor oil and taste like super intense sesame seed oil, so bad you have a hard time tasting it. Three teaspoons a day, or three 500mg capsules full if you like to do them yourself. If you clean your roots, or have access to roots, the alkalizing properties helps with skin conditions. and helps your body heal.

Like I said before, there are many options. Topical relief as well, and not just with Cannabis.

Please let us know what you are thinking as far as strains whence you look at some seeds.

Herbies seedbank too.

Peace

dazed, I'm new around here but thought I'd chime in on the topic as I get anxiety sometime too. I'm a complete noob as far as autos but I have some experience with photo Strawberry Cough. I usually can't handle the high end sats like Sour D, Haze variants etc. but strawberry Cough is very pleasant and social feeling.. It's relaxing yet you re very social and chatty, want to talk about everything and tell jokes

Thanks cannabliss :). I have heard of that strain before, I'll add it to my list. My next bean order will be a bunch of strains recommended by you guys here.

I also had social anxiety issues and have heard good things about strawberry cough for that too. To be honest, I've been prescribed anti-depressants and I dont' like them either, however they do help somewhat. I'm currently prescribed benzos to take "as needed". Those work great but are dangerous and highly addictive. But they are great to have on hand in case of a "bad trip".

As for strains I've tried. Any of the "blue" strains are great nighttime strains imo. I LOVE LaDiva. I've tried Blue Pyramid and Blue Invader also.

For daytime, as I mentioned earlier, CBD Seeds Auto Diesel has worked well. Its also the best budding strain I've grown so far, shocking colas. RQS Royal Dwarf was great for social anxiety and daytime use if used in small amounts but would cause panic attacks if smoked in access. NLxBB is a definite no-no. High THC strain and very easy to end up in panic-land. Advanced seeds Jack Herer is also a high energy strain that has yet to cause any ill effects for me. Hope this helps
