Mephisto Genetics Waterfarm Mephistos

hey guys! yes @Seabass I am sticking with her too :greenthumb:and @derek420colorado you are on the right track sir... although I run the drip rings 24/7 and the water levels are fine, these ladies were indeed overfed some initially and I had to dial that back in... combine that with her already slow / mutant start, and well it was a little much for her, and I"ve been fiddling around with her since :stir: Honestly I don't think my hydroton was as clean as it should have been at the start of this either, as all of these girls are slower than I am used to. Well and then again this is also my first experiment vegging with only 3500K/4000K cobs (no blurple lights, which are amazing for veg) so that is probably playing a role as well.

anyways! she'll pull through! or not, lol... all part of the fun I've run mutants before and usually just hang in there with 'em :vibe::vibe::vibe:

Looking good in there. Have you ever experimented with different watering settings. (example maybe 60 min off 15 min on).
my own experience:Root growth will devolop faster in early veg.
Keep it up

Hey mate, amazing plants / harvests at the start of this thread! Just gorgeous :worship: :vibe:

Now, because of the above statement, I don't even want to comment, but......... you said it's your first time vegging with 3500k cobs? In my experience, they are pretty awesome for vegging, BUT, less is more. They really don't need too much cob power to veg, and I start mine really high up with small plants. This run I also turned my cobs down to around 100w for vegging a few plants.

Is it possible that the "as bright as the sun" amount of cob light you have there is stunting your girls in early veg?

I'll get me coat now!! :worship:

Thanks @KsjAuto I haven't experimented with different watering settings. I am the guy who opts for the kind of simplicity where if I can "turn something on and leave it alone" without sacrificing results and/or expenses (too much), then I am going to do it. This is manifested in many ways, but I am taking your comments to heart, and may indeed end up experimenting here... :thanks:

Thanks @hippy71 you are too kind! I should have explained the image with the lights better... I gave the girls the first couple of weeks with just 2 4000K Veros (starting ~1.5 m above the plants and moved them down incrementally over time to ~70 cm). I then added 2 3500K Crees about a week later. Finally I hung the 2 3000K Veros and the 2 3500K Citizens yesterday and turned them on. I typically keep lights ~60 - 80 cm above the tops throughout. It's my understanding that during veg the girls prefer more 'blue' light closer to the 5000K spectrum, which the 'blurple' lights typically (and certainly my Blackstars) provide in abundance. Regardless, these ladies are exploding now, and I'm not seeing anything too worrisome, and I doubt that these results will make me want to go back to vegging under the blurples :thanks:

I used water farms for a long time and loved them. I would most definitely suggest investing in a small 3 dollar 24 hour timer and setting it to 15 mins on 45 off. As mentioned above it will definitely stimulate root growth, even more than you are seeing now. The roots need time to have to “look” for water i.e grow when the water is off. If it’s on all the time they don’t have to do as much. If that makes sense. Also with the timer you can still just “turn it on and leave it” and the timer will do all the work. Just my experience any way

well blow me down and call me smokey! when two old pros @KsjAuto @derek420colorado come in here with the same advise, I am going to listen! Next time I will use a timer on the air pumps for feeding, something along the lines of 15 mins on 45 off... and go from there :vibe:

If I can shave a week or even a few days off with a timer, that is definitely a no brainer! thank guys I really mean it :bighug:

Oh question, do you increase the watering to 'always on' when plants are larger? or at all? or? Thanks in advance!

When I used top feed with ( "airlift" )for the watering. 60 Minutes of and 15 min on 24/7. My current setup feeds 250ml every 60 min 24/7.in flower I didn't see any difference running 24/7 ore..on off cycles.

awesome, thanks mate! do you see any advantage to putting a timer on my pumps for this round? day 34 from seed now...
