Hello AFN!

I grow since a year inspired by AFN.
I like to see here big growns, box and many many beutiful plants.
I use only 400W HPS, but this one light make my electrical bill double size...
I dont really know how do you guys can run for example 2000W grown room.
In my country unfortunately growing is not a legal thing... (,,I,, government), but as I see many grower in here in the same boat.
Can you advice me some trick ,or have any well-established process to grown with bigger lights in a bigger box? How do you resolve the bill problem?
(I means not the payment is the problem. The high consumption is the problem. I dont want to fight with the law...)

I want to switch to LED, but its very expensive.
Only to be understood. In my country the average payment around 5-600 dollar / mounth.
You need to resolve your life from this money... bills, food, ect...
I want to buy a new DP LED light, but if I buy it , I need 2.
So I use again around 400W with the same size box, and virtually nothing happened...
Thats why I ask, how do you guys can run 3 or 4 times bigger setup withouth fear...

I only run a 1.2m tent Bot ,but maximize that space using LED & DWC .So I can get 450g from just 1 tent & the same power as your hps

2x DP LED's will grow a lot lot more weed than 1x 400w hps for the same power .So you can grow more bud in the same space with LED & that means you dont have to make your space 2 or 3 times bigger .... in 6 months the money for the lights you get back in bud :Sharing One:

Really your electric bill would have to be off the charts for someone to rasie a eyebrow, I agree get leds or run shorter light cycles. Leds a lot les power, if u can hold out with the hps until u can get a led the led will pay for its self in a year using energy, and most are good for 5years.

A couple of very good ideas Bot.

DWC saing in one grow, you can get much weed, and not grow again for say three months, saving power.

instead of 20/4 or 18/6 you CAN go 12/12 or 14/10, less power, but less weed also.

or even switching to LED's When you use a 400 watt LED, it consume a lot less power than a 400 watt HPS.

You could also use flourescents, build your own so it will cost less, but cost saving analysis says it won't save you all that much in the long run.

Dam that's a lot of money per month bro, feel for ya.

Unfortunately they are bastards and don't even think of trying to 'steal' the electricity dude. They will put you in jail for the stealing the power and a fine for a few plants.:jaw:

Seems like the only way would be to spend more money on more efficient equipment, digital ballast, LED etc... but that isn't cheap.

What about just running 16/8 on the lights or just 12/12? I know the yield would suffer....more plants?

Dare I say go for photo plants and 12/12 straight from seed.:smoke:

Yes guys,maybe I swich LED for my next run.
My job is really billowy, sometimes I cant go home for days, thats why I cant grow in DWC. I must use soil.
I think I will use 15L airpots (never try before), transform my box to 60X100 , buy a DP LED and try it with 2 New AutoUltimate, and hope the best...

Rignt now they run in 18/6.
I dont want to be misher. If they need it, they get it, just try to save where I can.
