Outdoor First time outdoor auto grow AUSTRALIA will these strains do welll?.....

ahahaha.. just wondering guys what soil would you recommend i went to bunnings today and there a quite a few too choose from what works best in you're opinion?

hey guys just a quick update of where i'm at atm, yesterday I put 1 of my white goblins into a wet paper towel and folded a few times over then folden again over the seed, put inside a plastic air tight container inside my cupboard.. on checking this morning about 22 hrs later the goblin has cracked open and the root has become visible. i'm gunna leave it another 24 hrs there to let the root grow to about 1/2 an inch to 3/4 of an inch, so potting should begin tomorrow.. my ministry of cannabis little angel is currently in a glass of distilled water put her in there same time as i started the goblin just to do a comparison of both germinating techniques, she has sunk to the bottom of the glass upon looking at her this morning but hasn't cracked open yet, hopping she will be open and ready 2 go by tomorrow as wel , gonna go to bunnings today and get some tomato potting mix i think. and maybe some perelite , any opinions ?

congrats on the germination man sounds good, i used coco coir and cow shit for my grow. You need go drainage and perlite does the job but dont use to much perlite will mess your grow up. If you can pick up some coco, works wonders man. If you do make sure its Canna Coco. Good luck man and keep us posted on the grow

cheers man not much has changed since yesterday ay my goblin that had cracked open still looks about the same as it did yesterday and my little angel inside the cup of distilted water looks the same , i might put the angel into a paper towel today as it has been in the water over 48 hrs now.. hopefully they still grow a bit more so i can plant them..

Bunning's potting mix is very average and not worth the effort. Try Coir/Perlite/worm castings as a soil mix. Worm castings will not burn tender seedlings and should help grow plants well from the beginning.
You should get the Coir/Perlite mix from your local hydro shop. Worm castings from your local Sunday swap meet for bugger all.
Careful about Coir, it can have salt and a PH over 7! Best to find the slightly more expensive brand that has PH adjusted to 6-6.5. If not sphagnum moss will bring the PH down by mixing it in together.
Not sure if growing outside, but if so, the days are getting hotter now(this month the temp ouside vary between 25-40c daily) and the January summer is yet to happen. Days over 35c, make sure they get morning sun only!

sweet bro thanks for the good advice man.. i had to settle for the shit bunnings all purpose potting mix due to lack of funds.. hopefully it is alright. first time growing so all learning experience anyways. so u dont think i should have them in the sun the hole day during summer?

Do not use any nutes until flowers start unless you want more males. Others should comment on this. Worm castings are cheap and can be used to feed seedlings.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there dingo, when using bottled nutes It's a good idea to give a very light feeding (1/8- 1/4 strength) after the first two sets of true leaves develop.

No offense meant bud :peace:

Piggy, in your experience have you noticed a high level of males? Unless you only do fems, then it should not matter. Anyway not saying right or wrong. Light nutes helps the seedlings grow but if it creates more males.......let you decide.
Having said this, I bet there is a 50/50 on my theory. If I am wrong/mistaken, I am happy to adjust to make the little tackers get a head start anyway possible.
