Outdoor First time outdoor auto grow AUSTRALIA will these strains do welll?.....

cheers. i got some chicken manure mix as well was thinking of putting that in the final pot that i'll be transfering them too at 3-4 weeks. any opinions on that?

seeds are fem btw

but yeah seeds germinated pretty good both are in their new pots at the moment hopefully they will appear in the next day or two.. :peace:

Piggy, in your experience have you noticed a high level of males? Unless you only do fems, then it should not matter. Anyway not saying right or wrong. Light nutes helps the seedlings grow but if it creates more males.......let you decide.
Having said this, I bet there is a 50/50 on my theory. If I am wrong/mistaken, I am happy to adjust to make the little tackers get a head start anyway possible.

No, I tend to get 50/50 with slightly more fems, but then I don't use bottled nutes much anymore. I use TLO soils and compost teas. I have my doubts about nutes dictating sex, I can run the same seeds in the same conditions and have different results every time.

It's not wise to starve the plants, they do need to eat just like every other living thing.

Chicken poo is really hot, It's also high N. I don't think I'd put it in my mix unless I wanted to grow some big photo plants. If you are growing autos from fem seed it would be wise to start them in the pot you want to finish them in. Autos only vege for a short time and if they get stunted they don't get a lot of recovery time like photos. Transplanting can slow them down.

Hope that helps!

edit: So I just went over that again and realized I missed the soil mixing part. That's the kind of thing where you want to follow a recipe. Experimenting can lead to great frustration and sick plants.......like a lot of my franken-deaths :D

Here's a link to the organic soil mix thread where people post up proven mixes, enjoy!

hey guys my seeds have sprouted today but the shell seems to be stuck on one of them? what should i do i heard if u dont take the shell off it will die but i dont wanna try get the shell off and end up killing it when it may not be necessary.. ill upload a pic ..

not sure how to upload a photo but basically the sprout is about an inch and a half tall and is bending like 90 degres due to the weight of the shell i think and also from the shell like 1/5th of the way down the sprout is brownish in colour..

i cant get it man might leave it till 2moro and hope it naturally comes off tonight haha..
